We explained a bit about stock work in January's stock post.
I am still very much what I consider a newbie to stock work at about a 1 & 1/2 years. I continually research trends and read the forums. It's nice that there are some stock contributors still around that have been doing it for over 30 years. Apparently years ago, back in the film days, stock could be very lucrative. Times have changed. I still find it fun.
All of the photos I have on the stock sites still sell regardless if I take a month off or not. Now.... the earnings I make from them are far from earning a living. I may get to buy a nice quality backdrop every other month or a new flash or.... make a payment on a new computer type thing, but that's it. I only have 300 to 500 images in my portfolio depending on which stock agency I use. I am still having fun and looking for new shots, so its worth it to me.
